How can I change the grain direction of different parts in a wood rendering? Are there any videos (I've looked but can't find anything so far)?

Hi Jim

It depends on the product and the type of material (image file or procedural wood). Do you have a example file?

Here's a small sample file. I'm using the wood from the Render Library. It's a simple wood frame. The grain should go vertically, as it does, on the stiles. The rails should have the grain going horizontally.

I'd also like to be able to make it look more like wood.

The wood grain can be rotated with the advanced render settings in the Inspector.
Right click on the horizontal board, and change the settings in TextureSpace.

Thanks. So the X Plane turns the rendering to run along the X axis? Is the Z Plane the default?

I made a video today showing some ways to apply and create wood textures.
