Hi All,

I am starting to get notifications on my WIN 7 computer from Microsoft that I can reserve a copy of WINDOWS 10 and upgrade when available (free). I have not decided if I am going to upgrade yet because I am not sure if all my software that runs so well under WIN 7 will run as well under WIN 10, including ViaCAD and other Punch! products.

Anyway, just thought I'd post a heads-up. Other WIN 7 and WIN 8 (8.1) users who qualify are likely getting similar notifications. Hoping ViaCAD/Shark is compatible because for those of us using Windows, WIN 10 is probably in our future whether we upgrade soon or eventually buy a whole new computer.

Hi Dan

That's the registration system failing, it thinks the app has been copied to a new machine. I'll give Encore a heads up. Going forward Encore has switched to a new registration scheme that eliminates this issue.

Hi Dan

We've replaced the ViaCAD DRM for the upcoming service pack which is going out before Windows 10 is released. If you need it before the official release, contact Encore tech support and ask for a pre release build supporting the new DRM.

Encore's QA group is still going over the build and testing on Windows 10 now. So far it is looking good.

I followed your suggestion, Encore support was very helpful, and the prerelease build works perfectly.
It is likely very similar to the final.
