i am trying to figure out how to add the degree sign, centerline symbol etc, in the model to sheet.
if i use the angle measuring tool it will add a degree sign but i can't figure out how to put my own there...??

You can either copy and paste from the character map or use the alt codes for symbols.
plusminus alt+0177
deg alt+0176
diameter alt+0216

What about the center line symbol? When I go to copy and paste that it just shows a box

What font are you using in the drawing? If you are using character map to paste from u need to use the same fonts on drawing and open in character map.
