Hi,

I just updated to build 737 (Mac OS) and am now no longer able to print. Printing to either a printer or Preview.app causes ViaCAD to hang up until it is force-quit. Further, the console.log is over-run with this (I had ~6GB worth by the time I checked):

Feb 17 14:18:29 elle [0x0-0x1c01c].1994-2008 Punch! Software (www.punchcad.com)[171]: *** error: can't allocate region
Feb 17 14:18:29 elle [0x0-0x1c01c].1994-2008 Punch! Software (www.punchcad.com)[171]: *** set a breakpoint in malloc_error_break to debug
Feb 17 14:18:29 elle [0x0-0x1c01c].1994-2008 Punch! Software (www.punchcad.com)[171]: ViaCAD(171,0xa087bfa0) malloc: *** mmap(size=2097152) failed (error code=12)

So something is failing and then getting stuck in an infinite loop.

Is there any way to get back to the previous build (711, if I remember correctly?). I guess I could go back to 5.0.0 off of the CD?

I am running 10.5.2 on a MacBook Pro and am up-to-date system-wise according to software update.

Thanks,

tw

As a follow-up, I tried to go back to 5.0.0, but then couldn't read the files I edited with 5.0.2.

So, back to 5.0.2 with no printing.

The behavior does not happen on all files. I have some others that I can print fine. The behavior is pretty bizzare, honestly.

I have been trying to print one 8-1/2 x 11 region off of a larger drawing.

If I print this area and its contents --> Crash
If I delete all of the contents in this area and then print it --> Crash
If I delete all of the objects in the drawing and then print this area --> No Crash
If I print another (non-overlapping) area --> No crash
If I cut the contents from the original area, paste them elsewhere, then try to print that area --> No crash

Can you send us a sample file that repeats plus your printer type/settings.

The new service has some features which required a file change. You can File:Export your files back to the older version.
