Dear forum users,

I've just bought a new PC. Here are its specs:

Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 @ 3.16GHz,
Sapphire Radeon HD4870 1GB Vapor-X,
Mushkin 4GB (2x2 bundle) CL5 1066MHz DDR2,
WD 500GB 32MB Buffer Sata III,
Gigabyte GA-EP43-UD3L Ultra Durable 3 Motherboard,
LG Flatron W2253TQ Monitor,
OCZ 500W PSU.

I'm planning on overclocking the sh*t out of this system (got Arctic Cooling Freeze 7 Pro for the CPU, and a huge fan on the side door of my EZCool enclouser, so everything is going to be quite cool. Planning on getting the CPU to around 4.2GHz, and RAM to about 1200), but for now I'm running everything at stock speeds.

After installing windows, updating all the drivers, and installing ViaCAD 2D/3D v.6 (Build 786. Checked using the built-in utility and it says it's the latest build of the software), I tried to create a mechanical spring using the Helix spline tool, and giving it some thickness using the Pipe tool. The results I'm getting are kind of scary. :( The software isn't crashing or anything, but it seems as if it has problems rendering the pipe along the spline. The attached picture will explain it better than anything I could say.

I tried rendering other things (say, creating a donut from a profile), and everything worked well. Also, I've opened up some example files that came with the program, and everything worked well there also. It's just with the spring that I'm having problems.

I'd appreciate any help with the matter! :)

Tim,

Check your inbox. Sent you an e-mail.

BTW, I didn't knew there's a newer version of ViaCAD 2D/3D. I mean, as I mentioned, I checked if my ver. is up-to-date using the built-in option, under the Help menu. Or is there another place/method I need to use when checking for updates?

Thanks in advance,

Arye Segal.

Dear Tim,

Please re-check your inbox. I've resent the e-mail.

Also, please check your PM box here, in the forums. I've sent you the details to there too, and asked a question while I'm at it. ;)

Thanks a ton for all the assistance,

Arye.
