Hi all, long time no post here...

Heres a model of a cube to test the rounding capabilities in ViaCAD 5.
Rendered in Shade 8.5 Std.

Why is it Lightworks within Shark doesn't render like this by default ?

I'm sure it can

i love it. very nice rendering. How built you this beautifully cube ?
I had last year to built one in gold. It was more difficult as it lookes.

Hi Andreas,

i have problems uploading a picture to my file hoster (error 407), so i cant show you the procedure, but it is actually very simple to do but not simple for me to properly explain.

Ok, i try it anyway just create 3 cylinders and arrange them so that they form a corner or to make it easier to understand that they form a cross (if you would extend the corner). Then in the center of the cross position 3 rectangular surfaces and rotate each so that they cut through each corner of the cross. Then use those surfaces to cut the pipes. For each pipe you need two of the surfaces to cut the pipes. Once this is done you should have the same corner pipe like in my picture, only with hard edges. Now you only have to round them heavily and voila you have the proper part.

Hi again,

in regards to the render. Shade 8.5.2 has also a build in Pathtracer (unbiased rendering method), thats why the quality is so good. But it takes pretty long to render. Same like Maxwell etc. Probably not all folks likes to render overnight? One good thing is of course when the new Vers. of Shade is released is that its Pathtracer is 10x faster!!!!

sorry for the late reply, i didnt checked this thread again...

The files are already on the way. Hope they are easy to understand.

I have also no time for a tut, but you should get an idea when looking
at the three files how i did it.

Hi Mike,

i use DXF R12 and scale the objects by factor 1000 in Shade. All objects (ungrouped) with different colors come into Shade as Layer 1, including the parts, named as polygon mesh(es) and keep their original color.

If similiar colors come in as a group i have not tested.
