We have been playing around with various bits of software just lately and ashlar vellum seems to be almost indentical...apart from price !!. Which one came first and how did it become so similar:confused:

Request for Devlopers:

Do you have any plans (or can we persuade) you to open up the ViaCad Pro version to create Auto 3D to 2D (Precise) in the future ??. We have decided to just to solid modeling in VCad but we need to produce accurate CAD drawings for the shopfloor ??

What dya say guys;)

In 1996 I licensed distribution rights of CADD Pro to Ashlar who resold as Vellum Solids, Neon, Argon, Xenon, Cobalt. Around 2003 I licensed Ashlar a copy of the source code such that they could start up their own development efforts. So after 2003, the code branched between Ashlar and CSI.

No plans at this time to include this feature in the ViaCAD products. The precision 3D to 2D is based on some licensed technology from Dassault.

We do have something in development that we will be announcing shortly that I believe you will be interested in.

Hey Tom

Tim has already explained but what I meant is the output from VC after model to sheet...currently 2d/3d just outputs polylines whereas shark does accurate :)

In any case it still dimensions the model correctly as arcs etc regardless of the output after that so that is fine with me.
