I must be losing my mind...how do I do a 2D add or subtract with 2D entities? I can't seem to find the command button for these functions.

Thanks!

You can draw a line and then trim it. You can also highlight an entity then delete it (backspace-delete). Is this what you mean?

No, I mean like a 2D Boolean operation. Add two 2D shapes to make one shape, or remove one from the other. Like the 3D, but in 2D...

I don't think so, no. Perhaps you can? I don't know, or have never come across that way- but it seems a weird way of doing it as the trim tools do pretty much the same thing anyway. :)

Thanks! That's what I'm looking for. However, mine is missing!!!

I'm using ViaCAD Version 6, not the Pro version. Is this missing from the regular ViaCAD? Seems strange that you could do this with 3D entities but not 2D entities.

Or, is it just missing from my toolbar somehow???

Hi,

I use VC 6 too.

You could try the standard trim tool but depending on the geometry this could be a lengthy job, a good alternative would be region trim found in the same palette?. Remember you can use Shift to sel/desel geometry ;)

Good luck.

Hmmm....don't tell me TurboCAD Deluxe has a handy tool that ViaCAD doesn't have...that would be disappointing!

There are no tools in ViaCAD 2D/3D to do 2D booleans.

As suggested earlier, you will need to use the trim tool sets to accomplish these tasks.
