Is this possible? I have been experimenting with the different light tools but have yet to figure out how to; a) use them effectively; b) create a drop shadow for the object modeled.

I have gone so far to even model a surface or "floor" beneath the object, but to no avail.

Is this possible in the base version of V6?

Is the model simple, such as a prism? I am wondering whether you can thicken the base. However, i'm thinking it'll be complicated if you have to rotate the object. I haven't tried this before, though... Hopefully, someone will answer..

Hey ZLC, I've tried on several different things. I've been trying to learn how to create some decent effects with the lighting tools.

Most recently, I just created a simple cube and tried to use the lighting to cast a shadow. I even modeled a surface or floor beneath the cube and still couldn't get it to work. So, I was just wondering if it was even possible in the base version of VC.

After creating a floor, how about increasing/decreasing the scale of a copy, and then trying different transparencies, and then using the floor to split/trim off the unneded portion, or using a clipping plane to hide some.
