This issue may be my particular issue. But if someone know how to walk around, please advise.

I bought ViaCAD 2D/3D box package yesterday. I have 2 pc. One is note PC and XP. Another is desk top and Vista.

I was able to install ViaCAD 2D/3D into my XP PC and registered it. ViaCAD 2D/3D runs well after the process.

Then I tried to install it into my Vista PC. The PC is trying to read the install CD about 2 to 3 minutes after I inserted it into my CD/DVD-ROM drive. But no installation display appeared. I tried several times, but same things happened.

I tried to search the issue in the web, but I can't find any hint. Please help

I don't believe the autoplay feature will work in Vista. The CD autoplay never popped up for me. I just went into "computer" and browsed to the setup.exe and double-clicked it. Had no installation problems from that point forward.

This is off-topic, but I have had one issue with Vista. I was getting graphical corruption with the grid turned on. It turned out to be the way Vista handles windows and 3d acceleration. I changed my desktop theme to Vista Basic and it solved the problem. This may well be an issue with my vidcard. I'm currently running ViaCAD on a notebook with an Intel 950 onboard video. I'm going to install on my desktop (also running Vista) tomorrow, which is a much more robust machine. Hopefully, I won't have to disable Aero to run ViaCAD as I will probably run it on that machine more often (more powerful, dual core, dual monitors, etc.).

I tried to install the CD tonight again. CD/DVd drive LED turns on about 3 to 4 minutes after inserting the disc. Then HDD LED started flashing about 2 to 3 minutes. Then install dialog appears. I just followed the instruction in the dialog. Installation finished successfully. Something seemed to be wrong in my system.

It is not just your system. Installing ViaCAD on a Vista machine is a common problem. Because of all of Vista's security this process usually will have some issues. The easiest way to install ViaCAD onto a Vista machine is to turn of the User Account Controls and the Antivirus software until the install is complete. The reason for this is, Vista scans the complete CD before it will start the installation process.
