I have the preferences for VC Pro 6 set to save every 15 commands. Right after a save, VC crashed. The only file I see was last saved an hour ago and I lost all the work for the past hour. Where is the "backup" file being saved if it's not the original file? I need to find it as VC 6 crashes quite often and I can't keep redoing what I did.

Joev, don't know what computer OS you are using, but under Mac OS X you can find the backup files in your documents folder, under 'Punch!'

Try your documents folder on Windows :)

PS, you ARE up to date aren't you? VC shouldn't really be crashing so much! :)

Then the check for Current Version under the Help menu needs to be fixed. It shows that I have the current version.

We're fixing a crash related to tabbing and reposting all builds to 835.

Tim

834 for shark as been out a week, so if it takes a week or more for these new builds to be available for pro after shark release, then its at least another week.

See ya in a week or so.

FYI, via private emails we found the crashes and corrupt backup files to be ViaCAD running out of virtual memory. In this particular case, turning off Use Vertex Arrays helped reduced VM quite a bit.

Well, VC has some serious issues with memory use. When I was building the chess knight I found at one point that VC pro was using 1Gb of memory . I minimized VC window then maximized and the memory use went down to under 50mb.
