Hey Tim:

As you know I'm helping good 'ol Ed Rankin design an new airplane for the CAFE competition. We are making good progress, but are stumped at trying to figure out how to create an expanding radius wing root fillet to fair the wing and fuselage intersection.

Version used: CU4 Build 660 (special graphics build by Scott) with AeroPack

I've tried the "tangent with edge" tool in AeroPack and it works pretty good within the confines of the wing chord, but the leading and trailing edge pieces don't work with that method. The two-rail sweep doesn't work and it would be good to use some type of polyconic surface such that we can manipulate the rho value later to get the desired cross sectional area.

I thought of the net surface tool, but that isn't really what we want.

Any ideas? I can stop over and visit Scott and Dave when I get home.

I attach a fragment of the file so that you can see what we are attempting to do.

Thanks!
Gary
