From another forum, I got the idea to use a point for a curve definition. This was from Rhino using a Sweep - 2 Rails where points were used as curve defition at the ends of the sweeps.

http://www.boatdesign.net/forum...all-way-point-44358.html

The two similar functions in VC are Guide Skin Surface (most similar) and a Net Surface. Unfortunately, I could net get the point to function with either of these.

The Skin Surface function worked very well using a point as a defining shape even though it is not listed in the list of usable entities. ( lines, arcs, circles, ellipses, conics, and splines ) I suppose a point could be considered a conic. This gives some functionality that I would not have tried since the point entity wasn't listed as a usable feature. Maybe this will help somebody else, too.

The only shortfall to this revelation is that the edges are still undefined and subject to VC internal workings.
