A feature i dream about in VCP / VC 2D/3D is an ability to group or simulate joining of surfaces which can be used for cutting objects.

Some areas of my ship model have complex curvature and some of that is just due to non-perfectly-faired lines that complicate the meshing as it becomes in the 3D dxf mesh from a nautical designing application i use. I discard one half of the model, then break down the meshing into surfaces. I then join the surfaces. For localized trimming needs, i select what i need, then for speed reasons, i copy and paste the joined surfaces into another drawing along with the solids to be trimmed by the surfaces. This is great for practice, but in some cases, it's extra work. But, maybe in the future some scripting might speed this up?
