Hello! I am a new user of ViaCAD Pro 6.0 and designing an injection molded part. I have drawn my part but do NOT understand how to get a draft of 2 or so % in the shell. Is it even possible???

Is the basis of your part a simple extrude - if so, then the extrude solid tool allows for draft, so long as your sketch is planar.

If you are drawing something more complex, the answer is likely no. Then you must construct the draft

If you're working in surfaces, as I often do ... then it's helpful to tangent match your constructed surfaces into a drafted dummy reference surface - that is when Tim's fixed the 'match surface' tool : )

Not sure that will have helped you .. or Tim.

Have you tried to use the parting line tool, I am not sure how complicated your part is?

I am assuming that you have tried the draft tool ?

The way I use the tool is to create the basic external form as a solid, add draft, then shell.
