For your amusement:

Here is a work in progress of a pre WWII world speed record attempt racer. There is a small, informal group that are thinking about building a replica. The original was sponsored by Lord Nuffield (Robert Morris of Morris Garages MG). Unfortunately it met with a landing accident on the first test flight and the outbreak of the war ended the project.

There are numerous problems with the model including problems with using a 2-rail sweep for the wingtip.

Nice work, interesting project. Is this an English answer to the Bugatti plane that was similarly stalled by the war? There's a group of enthusiasts who want to build a replica of that one, too, although that's more multi-national.
