Hi.
I want to rotate or scale or do some combination similar to what Blender for years has been shown to do tutorials.
When I try to rotate or translate the points in the two horizontal slots, I want them to maintain their z axes heights but move along the x axis according to any angle made by Gripper rotation handle (or entered into a dialogue field).
Notice how they change in z.
Please tell me what I'm missing. The only alternative I know and have been using is to first draw a reference line and tweak its control and mid points location for the destination of the points like in the two slots.
Thanks.

Hi Zero,
I think you are missing a work plane
And we are missing the Shark or Viacad file itself instead of JPG's
If you start with the workplane on the right spot and determine the right dimensions and location of the slot you don't have to translate/replace/resize

Hi Theo, Thanks for your reply. 1. My fault for misleading what's in my effort. I did have misgivings and should have not used the slots and should have instead used squiggly red or green lines to indicate "near here". So, the slots aren't really needed geometry. I shouldn't have even put them in the drawing. Apologies, again. 2. With regards to a working plane being missing... Are you saying that I can draw on a plane and the benefit from an associative geometry relation between the plane and the endpoints (of the two lower curces) I want to maintain their z positions as I rotate about the uppermost endpoint? I'll visit that and see if I can. ZLC

Hi ZLC,About: I want to maintain their z positions as I rotate about the uppermost endpoint Without the CAD file it's difficult to understand exactly what you mean but I will do my best.. If you like to maintain Z while you rotate than go to the TOP-view Use the gripper as Attach with "user positioned" Place the gripper and set the gripper on the point what may not change in Z direction Rotate whatever you like and this point will not change in Z Is this what you need? Regard, Theo

I wish I'd thought of that.

Additionally, (This post is before your recent post, Theo.) I'm considering using a horizontal(?) constraint to limit the base point for z value purposes (for such a scenario; likely going to be convoluted and take lots of trial and error), then using an angle constraint to allow longitudinal movement or positioning (by hand, not by simulation, to be clear). I just today remembered doing similar last year or earlier this year, but, it was a bit of effort on a transom of my ship design. It would be nice if it's possible to have the Gripper offer "keep selected, adjusting endpoints maintaining elevation/Z altitude?". So, the upper curve or its aft endpoint serving as the rotate-about or gripper origin location, and the other two curves' endpoints at, say Z=5m and Z=3m, retain their Zs. The Gripper would just induce them to slide along but not change elevation. ZLC
