Hello Ron

Can you be more specific on what broken lines you are referring to? Are you talking 2d profiles? profiles with gaps ?

We are doing CNC Plasma cutting, using Inkscape, Sheetcam, Mach3 and Now Punch Viacad 2D

I used Inkscape to connect overlapping and broken lines (lines that were not joined together).

I’m liking what I see with Punch ViaCAD, hope with time I will better understand it, hope it has a dxf editor.

Thanks
Ron

You basically have 2 options:

1: Connect curve - Does exactly what it says. Select 2 curves and it connect the 2 curves.

2: repair curve - Select as multiple curves and it looks and repairs any gaps between them

cad'n'stuff attached the following image(s):

Viacad 2d can modify your 2d profiles for cutting. Lots of tools depending on situation

1. First thing is to open profile and right click and use the select chain tool - that can show the gaps in the profile.

2. Trim and extend tools

3. Repair profile tool

4. connect curves

5. The arc from curve tool located in the arcs tool bar is great from getting the profile to arcs vs a chopped up polyline with a million line segments.

If you can post an example file we can walk thru these options.

Regards

Jason
