I'm not aware aware of a change with loft with guides. One of my test examples attached.
Do you have an example of something that used to work that is no longer working?
Tim

Hi Tim,
Has your part been made in viacad v11? Also I can't get that to work either. I've attached a very simple example. Todd also knows about this. Two circles with a spline between them. It throws in a straight loft between them. Unless I'm missing something?
This is the solid loft function. You can click it in the tool bar and you get either a straight loft or loft along a guide curve.
Thanks

Hi Ugmentalcase,
With this tool, as far as I know, the guide curve must intersect the circles...

Hi Jlm, does this mean the line must pass through the circle?

Yes, and you can have several guides if needed to get fully evolutive solid.

Still no idea what's going on! :-) Can you have a look at the attached and humour me please? I don't understand what's happening. I have a similar problem with the centreline skin. I work with sketchs, but even when I change the guide curve to one continuous beizer or whatever it still doesn't like it, keeps telling me things are perpendicular etc. though they are?
The attached file shows what is in the video, either it doesn't like sketches or something I don't know?

I tried without success ...
Your guide being composite (2 straight lines + arc) it doesn't work, even grouped.
Maybe someone else could help.

Yeah I tried grouping and it didn't work. Even converting the curves and arcs to a spline it doesn't work. Trouble is to properly control it you really need a sketch to be able to adjust dimensions

In the simple case you sent, the pipe tool works perfectly...

Did you convert the guide to something to get it to work? If so what, and is this using the solid with guide, in the loft toolbar?

I mean the pipe tool, without using your circles : just select each element of the guide...
It works because your diameter is constant ( Ø90mm).

Ok cool, so how is it done? Can you show me with the example I provided. This is all I'm trying to do. Take a larger diameter down to a smaller diameter at the end of a line.
Thanks

Guide curves in the loft must exactly touch the profile. The guide curve does not serve as a means to orientate intermediate profiles.
The new CenterLine skin will allow you to define a center path. Profiles must be perpendicular to the center line path. The centerline also provides orientation between the profiles.
Attached is an example file.

>>Take a larger diameter down to a smaller diameter at the end of a line. You need to be careful of your diameters wrt to guide as it can create a self intersecting body which will fail inside ACIS. ACIS considers a self intersecting body an invalid solid. Tim
