When I import an Illustrator DXF/DWG file into ViaCad 2d/3d program and try to us extrude, I get a message saying there are overlapping curves and to delete them before I can extrude the image. What does it mean overlapping curves and how do I get rid of them?

Hello

There are curves that overlap others so there could be duplicates. You can right click on a part of the profile and use select chain tool to Find stray lines.
Also click on each part of profile and look for issues.
