hello Tim

is it possible to add soon, a function to create pipes, with different sections?

Indeed it is very difficult to follow a section on a path, because it is not "normal" to the surface.

example: with non-planar paths.

Thanks

Say, Antoine,

That's a NEAT demonstration! It makes me think there are ways to design screw propellers or worm gears or duct fan. Even an earthdigger machine...

Thanks!

Antoine, have you had a play with the new "Extend Bend" tool yet in Shark V7? (codename : dum dum dum dum get out of the water angangangang ahhhhhhh)

It's in the bend palette - it's a pretty cool tool - and doesn't care what profile you are extruding

Here, you can see my new design for a periscope for Elton John

Granted, it is limited to radius bends for now ... however ...

... I was using it yesterday to do a simple sheet bending job .. and I got a surprisingly good result from it !

You related to Marty Feldman by any chance?

hello,

Thanks Blowlamp,

I take your file to my argument:

your examples are simple because they are on flat paths.

in fact, my real question is ...:

Tim? can you implement in a NEW function pipe ---> as the new function reference volume on the face, as (duplicate path)? to avoid the section twist on the path to normal and remains the face of the volume on which the path is placed?

see my demo.

cordialy and thanks for your participation.

Antoine

Antoine.
In my opinion that is a bug isn't it? I can't see any reason why it should twist like that - it should surely retain its orientation throughout the curve. I also notice in trying this for myself that negative numbers in the Twist option for this command don't seem to work.

Martin.

the problem is the definition of the spline nonplanar. nothing was forced to behave (direction, curvature) as we want ....
