I am having trouble importing DXFs from a consultant who is using TurboCAD Deluxe v15 and 2016. He has sent me R14 versions (earliest he can access) of both DWG and DXF files, that I can not read in ViaCAD 2D 9 build 1184 on a Mac.

Is there a work around for this?

The files that you are trying to import do they contain just 2d data? What is the units and general scale of what you are importing is it a large as a building, small like size of a pencil?

What happens when you import the file in ViaCAD? Do you see any layers created?

Try a newer version like 2000 or 2004 no need to do R14

Thanks

Based on our experience dxf version 2004 should do the job.
Would you like to post a sample file ?

sometimes in a dxf file the pen color of lines is white. that can be a problem with a white backgound in viacad.

you can override the color of the dxf-layer in concept explorer to solve this.

I have tried a simple test importing dxf from other programs into ViaCAD 2D V9 1184 build, both file open and import and files came in fine. My guess there is either an issue with some of the objects, in the file, a scale issue, or a display issue like was mentioned earlier.

If you can post a sample dxf file that would be great.
