Starting up with this program and I don't understand why objects don't automatically just don't snap into place.

Trying to create a simple butt joint and when I zoom in, the two panels are not aligned and I don't know what the steps are to correct this.

Any help please?

activate snaps before drawing (see picture) or post your file so we could look into

Zoomed out it looks like the edges are snapped, but zoomed in and you definitely see that the edges are misaligned the the surfaces do not touch.

And this is one of the better attempts at this.

try the translate tool (see picture)

notice snap settings, choose translate tool, pick first edge (corner), next pick destination edge

Thanks so much for this.

I hope one day viand would put together some comprehensive tutorials for this program. It deserves better.
