Tim & Team,

I want to run CU on my main computer while at home and on a laptop while on the road. I have not searched the software license to see if this is acceptable or not. Is this OK? Apologies for expressing my inherent lazy tendencies.

Thanks Much

Yes, the Concepts license allows you to install on multiple machines, however only one copy may be running at a time. (No simultaneous use).

>>Well, this means I should ignore the registration warning, that tells me my SN already has been activated?

Yes, C2D, C3D, and CU allow multiple acitvations. After a point it will stop and require tech support at activate more.

>>use on my main Mac in my office and on my MacBook at home

Yes, this is aok. Plus you can install on a PC as well.

Any body have problems with not being able to start CU after transfering it to a MacBook Pro? In the set-up process one is able to simply transfer files, programs, etc. to a new Mac from an old one. I would like to know if any one else has hadd the non-start issue and how they were able to get around it?
Thanks in advance.

You're talking about the OS X setup? Well, that's expected behaviour. A CU license is based on a 'node ID' which is generated separately for each computer. Your previously installed version expects an other node ID. You should re-install from scratch and go through the usual registration process.

I have re-installed CU. Now CU starts. Thanks.
The next issue is how to get past ACTIVATION screen.
I can run CU in DEMO mode only.
I am guessing that I need an additional Activation code or
some other configuration/set-up information?
Thanks again.

Yes, after entering your SN and Reg Key, the "register" button within the dialog box becomes active. Klick this, and you are taken to the registration web page. After filling this in, you'll get your activation code via mail.

Bernd, thanks.
I just figured that one out on my own.
CU is up and running now.
I appreciate your help as well as Tim's advice.
Back to work for me.
Cheers!

My MacBook Pro had a failed iSight on delivery. Now I need a functioning camera. So I just made the return deadline at the nearby Apple Store (35 miles away) and was able to get a new MacBook Pro. I also need CU to work in the morning. So, how do I get it to work now? The error message is:

"The authorization could not be generated due to the following error:
"This serial number has exceeded its authorization limit. Please contact your authorized reseller."
Please check the information you entered above and try again.

:(

That wouldn't be so bad except that it is 1:30 AM and my CSI reseller, last I checked, was CADSoft Solutions Incorporated, which is now Punch! Software. My question is who do I contact now to get CU up and running again?

Thanks

Your serial number has been activated for more authorizations. Try registering again.

I guess that this is all just the mystery of software?
It seems to work now.
Thanks for your help.
