Hello Tim,

I have posted before about the continuous errors being put up by VC. I have been looking at spaceclaim for some comparison.

On a model I was playing around with (from another thread) I was attempting to place a fillet on one of the inside edges. VC would not allow this with a popup of "Acis error" pic01

I then exported this model (Acis sat) into spaceclaim which had no problems with the size (or even bigger) of the rad pic02/pic03

I have attached the sat file of the model.

Hi, Steve

I turned off chain select and checked feature interaction in options and it created a fillet with no errors. 16mm and 18mm see pics

Hi Jason,

Should I really have to start going through all the various options just to get a fillet?

The amount of times I get popup errors is painful enough without having to start playing around with selection methods/options to see if it will eventually work or not.

This example should just fillet without the error.

Agree here Steve, Jason .. the perception from most users will be that it doesn't work

Tim - what can we do to give the user a more positive response from VC ?

.. perhaps process it more like SC - or put up the suggestion in our error box "try again with feature interaction off ?"

Hi Jason,

It's a credit to you as you know the product bugs and all, but why on earth should anyone need to do that in the first place, this program makes less sense by the day:rolleyes:

If this input was necessary I would expect the program to report an more meaningful error such as "turn on feature interaction you wolly"

I am still trying to work out as to what "Feature" this fillet is interacting with, as it is an Acis solid. All the other programs I have simply made the fillet very quickly without error or problem, even Rhino made this fillet, and I started using VC because I think Rhino is not too good with fillets.

For me, it is becoming very annoying with the very many error messages/problems, which are put down to problems with Acis, when now, from some of the posts, it is more a case of how VC/shark is interacting with Acis.
