I have 2 HP laptops which I run VC on, a DV2 and a DV7. This week I upgraded both laptops to Win7.

VC runs great on the DV7.

But on the DV2 something is amiss. Instead of getting a nice drawing with a white background, I get a hole to the desktop.

As you can see I can draw lines, but I am drawing lines on the desktop...

Any thoughts?

probably a problem with the OpenGL support of the used video driver.

Which is known with the so called 'shared' low-end video solutions, i.e. with the GPU placed on the mainboard and sharing the working memory with the CPU as e.g. the Intel GMA series etc. in many Note-/Netbooks.

For fixing the effect, you may try to get an updated driver from the HP support webpages or - if runing a nVidia GeForce GPU - the recent GeForce drivers moded by LaptopVideo2Go to run on Notebooks too.

hth,
Norbert

I'm reading this very subject on a lot of other forums too- a problem with current drivers in W7, which is fixed with a download of up-to-date drivers.

You'd think that Microsoft by now had got their shit together. Obviously not.

many/most of the advanced drivers delivered by MS as e.g. the video drivers for recent graphics accelerators are made (fortunately) by the makers of the hardware.
