what i use most is the 2d profiling part, and export to a DXF that is imported for cutting on my machines

i been finding ways to send a dxf to plasma and water jet cut, controlling the led int an led out and the the sequence of the cut, little tricky but can be done,

i also build the 3d models on shark, with some cares you made model that can be easily converted to a a sheet metal part on solid works

i prefer the modeling tools on shark

a simple surface flattening tool has been requested many times in this forum, no luck yet

Luis G.,

When you speak of this "surface flattening tool" do you mean something that allows a 3D part to be instantly shown as "flat"? If not can you please give an example?

A tool for develop a curved surface into its flat pattern, a good sample is the smash surface tool and the unroll developable surface tool on rhino, like a cone or cylinder with an intersected solid o hole on it.

here other threads with same or similar request

See the sample, the flat surfaces was unfolded with rhino

I know this thread is a few months old, but I just noticed that Turbocad Pro 17 has Unbend and Unfold Face tools for flattening objects.

Could this be a possibility someday in an future Shark release?
