I'm wondering what the icons in the \Skins\Sys\Tools\64 are for? Like the Aero ones and others like Contour Flange? Tools from a different program?

The Aero icons are probably for the AeroPack add-on.

Thanks Larry.

Btw what other add-ons are available for Shark? I hadn't expected there were any. Anything by way of sheet metal?

There are some icons for tools that are in development or we're exploring. AeroPack is the only additional Addon available.

WOW!

Just on the 2nd, I send internally to a co-worker this AeroPack link:

http://www.darcorp.com/docman_uploads/AeroPack_Manual.pdf

Not terribly different from propellers and naval architecture. Would be awesome if somehow ViaCAD/Shark teamed up with DelftShip/FreeShip-Hydronship.... If APIs allowing two-way interaction existed, ViaCAD/Shark could suddenly see tons (superlative emotion here) of hobby ship modelers making greater use of VC/VCP/Shark. It might irk the likes of AutoShip and Ship Constructor -- esPECIALLY if Shark/VCP contained SQLite and allowed the user to link to his/her own choice of external db (not forced to use excel nor oo.or nor foxpro nor access, just tie in to the db drivers in the host machine or to those on a server the user has permission to create/edit/update on. Would be a nice way to expand on or totally replace the BOM as well as enhance the Inspector and CE....

The Darcorp guys are awesome to work with.

I started working with them while I was doing the Lockheed aircraft CAD system. Lockheed used to sponsor the AIAA student aircraft design competition among universities. During the 80's the University of Kansas was a frequent winner under the leadership of Dr Jan Ruskam. If you're in aerospace you may have encountered Ruskam's many aircraft design books. Dr Ruskam was also the original founder of Darcorp. One year they won they elected to take Lockheed's CAD system as their prize. They later replaced that with our software. Since then we've developed a great relationship focusing on integrating aircraft geometry and analysis between the two companies.
