Could someone please explain where I am going wrong!
I have a isometric view on a simple rectangular block and want to make a through hole in a specific place. This is what I am doing; I select the precision point and select relative. I click specify and click on a corner of the object. I enter the X Y co ordinates where I would like the hole.I chose the hole tool and specify the hole size. I click enter, expecting to see my hole apear but cannot see anything happening. Help!

Here's a quick video of two ways to locate the hole.
I hope it helps, but if not then post back and someone will chip in.

Thanks Martin. I nearly had it right. I wasn't selecting the point tool so could not see where the hole was to go.

Well guys I thought I had this cracked but tried again tonight and am lost again.
This must be so basic I am ashamed to ask again !
This what I am doing..I am using Precision Point ,Relative.
I select Point tool. I chose Specify and select a corner of the object. I enter the co ordinates where I want my hole to be and click enter. A point appears in the right place. So far so good. Now, when I select the hole tool to make the hole the point disapears, where is it ?
I am missing some realy obvious point. When I get this sorted I think I'll have to
rejoin this forum under a different name to hide my shame!

David.
Is there any particular reason for you to use the Precision Point tool to locate the hole - other than to learn its use?

The PP tool is good for some stuff, but I don't use it for laying out that many things on a day to day basis, as I find it quite easy to (say) draw a line at a known length and angle to locate a point.

Aren't the videos we've done sorting it out for you?

Only so far as finding points.... If you lose some points, press Ctrl+A to find them when they change colors.

Try to zoom in to the area where your point is.
Set the drawing to wireframe rendering, any solids will hide a point.
You could set the colour of the point to contrast with the existing lines.

Thank . I have it now. The point was the same colour as the object so didn't show, switching to wire frame its even clearer.
