I am trying to make a hole in a hole, by creating a solid from an elipse, split this solid to get the form of the boiler and then use the top part of this solid and the Subtract Solid tool to create the hole. Then I do this again, but then with a smaller elipse.

Even though I am succesful, I get the error 'internal inconsistency in boolean operation' and because of this I get a warning when I want to save that "This file has geometry that has links unresolved".

I don't know why I would do something wrong here, but ViaCad clearly doesn't agree with what I want to do. Spent the last four hours trying to make these simple holes, so any help is highly appreciated.

After taking a break, I tried one thing that actually solved my problem:

The boiler was a pipe created from a line, using the pipe tool. I removed this boiler completely, as well as the line and recreated the boiler with a circle and extruded this. Now it was just straight forward.

Apparently pipes are not as easy to change as extrusions.
