I can assure y'all that the developers are aware of these issues and are prioritizing the lists to be addressed.
This means that features will be added, a few bugs will be squashed but no UI improvements whatsoever. Given what we have seen so far of V5 the developers just don't appear to care about UI issues anymore. I guess they don't consider the UI as a sale-able feature.
Notice how almost all UI issues are ignored in the beta thread, and only some bugs are addressed.

Let me reiterate how dangerous this is. I had two of the same file open. Unbeknownst to me I had already closed the version I had been working on for a couple of hours. I closed and saved the second file with the same name, it overwrote the file I was working on. All that work gone!
(the other moral of the story is continue to use auto-save, like I did, and remember to check so it doesn't get overwritten)

Have a drawing open. Open a sat or stl file. It opens with the same name as the file that is already open, but in a new window.
